Take a Look Inside:
It sure has been a journey
On this trip throughout my mind
But hold on yet, we’re not done
There’s so much more to find
We haven’t opened any boxes
Or checked inside the drawers
There’s something living in the walls
Or at least, that’s the lore.
Will we find the thing we seek
Or give up in despair?
Is it safe to explore more
Or do we need to beware?
There may be claws under the lids
Or gnashing teeth through the lace.
I wouldn’t stick my fingers in
Or look it in the face.
Have you heard the soft whispers
Perhaps the knocks when we walk away?
Maybe it was a silent scream
That stole what I had to say
The creaking and the pounding
Are statements all the same.
They ignore, and they don’t care
When you find something to blame.
Don’t deny it for too long
The lies are addictingly sweet
They’ll blind you before you know it
And sweep you off your feet
It wants you to disregard
The things in which you know
So it can replace it with its fears
And scenes it wants to show
The lyrics describe a pleasant scene
Overwriting the terror and pain
Making you question your reality
And ponder if you’re sane
The siren song will lure you
And pull you into the deep
It’ll hypnotize and terrorize
But only while you sleep.
