Take a Look Inside:

Where shadows gather, the past still lives
A presence felt, but never seen
Memories surface, harsh and sharp
Blurring the edges of time
By replayed moments in the quiet dark
Echoes of choices and paths not taken
Whisk me to the years of my youth
With fragments of conversations long ended
The shadow stretches, bends, and shifts
It undulates into the form
Of broken promises and unspoken fears
They hold the essence of what was
A steady rhythm, almost alive
Alive in their dormancy,
Awake in my silence
They curl around my vulnerable mind
Reflecting the stories untold, unfinished
Eyes open to the dark
Finding shapes that were never there
Phantoms of history, ghosts of the past
In every corner, the shadows play
Stark reminders of yesterday
A haunted heart, a restless mind
An acknowledgment of what remains
These shadows hold memories captive
Until the wee hours of the morning
Shine light on what can never truly fade
The past, a lingering fog,
Wraps itself around my thoughts,
Its tendrils reach deep,
Into the quietest corners of the mind.
Voices, faint, from long ago,
Whisper secrets into the stillness,
Their echoes touch the wounds
That I thought were long healed
Memories that were long buried
They are but a paradox of memory’s embrace
A part of the mental dance
A dance of what was and what is,
With the shadows in the corner
